Do I still need Tor/Proxifier even if I won't be greifing, but just ripping?

If I won't be greifing, and only want to rip, will that stay out of LL's radar? Or can LL detect Shooped/Solar just by login? Do things like CDS use measures to detect viewers because LL won't care until you start greifing? I can even do it on land that I own. Thanks!

LL only cares if you are griefing. On the other hand if you are ripping and you get reported several times that will get LL attention. So if you are ripping and want to remain stealth its best to use the save as xml feature and save it to your hd. Go somewhere and upload it. Don't just flat out copybot someones belongings infront of them. I dont know about Solarstorm but ShoopedStorm is undetected, its shows as Firestorm.

I just want to do it to things I already paid for and own, and I'll also do this on my own private land. The last thing I want is attention from other folks and lands that might have some lame orbs like CDS, etc.

Does that mean I can straight out run Shooped on a plain PC inside my home, without Tor/Proxifier? And don't need to worry about hiding my MAC or Hdd serial?

Yes, you can run Shooped from your home PC without Tor/Proxifier. You are not violating LL Terms of Service if you are backing up something you bought or made. In that case its not called ripping or copybotting, its called backing up your inventory/work.

Furthermore, Tor/Proxifier, ip spoofing etc.. is only necessary if you plan on griefing or causing chaos. LL only care if you start crashing sims and knocking them offline. They are not concerned about a couple strings of c++ code "what you referred to as prims, skins etc...".

Better safe than sorry.
Never rezz botted prims without full perm prim from creator
to make spoof who made the object.
Some people only do one thing whole day: inspect other residents things and write shit articles on SLUniverse about it.

Take care!

Aside from other users that have too much time on their hands to file enough AR's and DMCA's which can lead to account suspension, my concern was about:
1. LL's ability to detect Shoopedstorm as a viewer
2. LL's ability to detect Shoopedstorm in action ripping in-world things to my harddrive
3. LL's ability to detect Shoopedstorm keying in UUID textures in existing Inventory items (modifying an Alexandria Linden library skin with ripped UUIDs)

Thanks for all your replies, service is better here that LL tickets as a premium member, lol

Set up OpenSim at home and run your microworld privé.
Good start and now popular is Sim on a stick.
Start your world. Log in with a viewer.
Look at the little console window to see what viewer is detected.
(I think it will say Firestorm).

Form what I have been doing so far, the following can help quell a newbie's first time using viewers:

1. Saving to xml is entirely client based. This is data that has already made it to your home. If you see it in draw distance, then it's already yours, and xml saving does just that. You're not making any break-and-enters into SL's servers or any lame crap like that, so fear not.

2. Uploading xml is kinda like "macros" for viewers. The same as if you used your hand and mouse and created each prim with in-world building. Think of xml upload as batch prim creation. Many legit in-world apps do this, like all those prim duplicators and mirror copiers.

3. Be discrete. Don't camp at a mainstore because owners will get paranoid and ban you just for afk. That's happened to me a few times during my newbie days. When I really want to bot something, I buy it, rez it on my land, and spend my sweet time playing with it. If you don't own or rent land, avoid sandboxes, find some land for sale where you can build. Lots of for sale land allow building, so folks can test if a house and all their fucking meeroos will fit on it and stuff. The whole point is to be alone, there are too many folks with time on their hands who will take pics of you doing shit and threading it on sluniverse.
