3.1.0 from my knowledge doesn't have any backdoors. 3.0 has issues with fitted mesh from my understanding.

Indeed, I have been using 3.1.0 before without apparent problems but you never know. I am kinda paranoid to be honest, that's the reason I am checking that version.
